i just recently finished watching Fruits Basket, and it was by far one of the rare animes that made me cry, and feel each and every emotion possible. the characters were all very well written, lovable each in their own ways, plus they had amazing backstories, in my opinion.
i would love it if anyone recommended similar anime with greatly written characters. it doesn’t have to be the same genre as Fruits Basket, as long as the story and characters are well written and complex.

if youre willing to go through a long journey id say gintama is really good
full metal alchemist brotherhood is also really good

Heavenly Delusion has some REALLY great characters, so you should check that out!

I would say Gintama, loved it
It's really funny, the story might be a little slow and weird but it's definitely worth.
