I think it would be a nice quality of life improvement to add a small button at the bottom of the thread page that refreshes after a given amount of time that then notifies the user through the page title once a new reply is made. This is basically a copy of what 4chan and other imageboard software does seen below:


Update & Auto-update button


Title notification reminding you when your thread is replied to.

Yes, thinking about this now it could also bring a problem with bot filters and whatnot.
