They were never a great registrar, but I've used them in the past.
Starting in 2015, Google Domains was in beta for a whopping 7 years and ended their beta in 2022.
Now roughly a year later in 2023, the platform will be sold to Squarespace for $180 million.

This news of acquisition comes a month or so after Google's release of 8 new TLDs.
