This is v interensting. Do you know where the general rules on personal data protections in Canada are described? Is it in the constitution? Do you have something similar to GDPR laws in EU????

I believe that there is already something like this in Europe.

- IP alone not really
- IP + data yes

In FR, there is the CNIL > IP is linked to identity + (TelcoProvider need to keep log)

But thankfully, there are many providers in Canada with dynamic IPs (you cannot connect identity to someone -- almost)  ...
IPv6 is rarely implemented outside of cellular networks (to link identity to ip).
