How to search a compressed database without decompressing it.

So if you're looking for information about a specific person, you usually don't want to download and decompress the entire database for you to be able to find this data, since it's a huge hassle to do. You might have also heard of using Linux's commands to do it, but this guide works for Windows.

Now, I can't help with the downloading part, but I can help with the decompression part. If you want to search through a compressed database for a particular string of text without decompressing it, here's how you would do it.

not decompressing it to a file or folder does not mean you are not decompressing at all. You have at least decompress to memory but yeah you can use a small io buffer for this. Also depends a lot of the compression algorithm man

Obviously, yes. There is no way to decompress without decompressing, but these databses are 50GB or more when decompressed, and I think not everyone has the space to spare for one, let alone multiple of them.
