I didn't really get into One Piece before but now I kinda want to watch it. But the episode count is just insanebso I'm wondering, should I start watching it or is it too late and watching it would be a waste of my time?

Also open to obscure anime recommendations.

it is not waste of time..after finishing netflix s1, I started watching the original and I have no regrets.

its worth it. it got everything, sad moments, funny moments, epic moments. though, the pacing sucks soooo bad. after a while you notice that most episodes can be summarized with 2 sentences, but in the end its still good to watch

It's better in the manga, as it doesn't have the filler that the anime does. However, if you truly want to go for an animated version, you should check One Pace. It's a cut version of One Piece that only uses the content from manga. It's especially good for Wano

Worth it all the way. But to save yourself alot of time lookup OnePace. It gets rid of the filler

I agree / disagree with some of the other users on this thread; One Piece has an absurd amount of pacing issues and filler. If you really want to enjoy it find ways to get rid of the filler and other junk. And if you find it is boring, just drop it, there is no reason to torture yourself for a thousand episodes if you don't like a show.

It's worth it if you survive the first 100 episodes (actually, later on youll look back and cherish those moments). Youll also have to endure FILLER episodes. Yes I wrote that in caps, becoz they're pain in the ass, just dont skip too much. Piece of advice, take your time, those who have hit the limit live in constant state of disarray as they wonder the world aimlessly waiting for the god Oda to drop something, anything really...
