The problem is that both sides think they have the right and everyone uses military in order to get their "right" and the world is divided in giving one side or another the "right" so it is like always when people argue - when both have to be right and only at the "proving the other wrong" only the more powerful wins. And it was clear for years that due to US backing the palestinians have no chance and that the forceful occupation of the land will go on until they seize to exist as a state.
