I think companies don't care about consumers anymore. They are so negligent nowadays too. And employees also fall for phishing links or malware still

I think also there are massive skill issues when it comes to software devs these days
So many kids drawn to the industry with zero deep understanding or discipline to make things secure, just chasing a high paying job

Previously people were software devs because they loved programming, now they're software devs because they watched a few tiktoks telling them top 10 careers
Hopefully the tide should change soon, with the "unemployed computer science major" stereotype

i think t goes a bit further down than that, its not only about the top 10 high paying careers tiktok slop. Remember when nerds were ostracized? We banded together and created/tore down stuff because there was nothing else out there, but somehow along the way the idea of a computer nerd became cool, and now theres a bunch of jocks and brogrammers all around.
