Aside from Akihabara and Ikebukuro districts in Tokyo, some friends recommended Nakano Broadway and Pokémon Center stores for shopping.
As for visits, I'd say the Ghibli park, Joypolis, Fuji-Q Highland and Nijigen no Mori are worth checking out. No idea about events though, tbh.
