Stupid (but real) question:

What do you do with cookies?

Log in yourself
Then copy over the cookie
Refresh your screen
Voila => you're now logged in as the same user as the copied cookie?

Is that what they're for?

If anyone else is wondering, you need to open dev tools to modify the cookies. You can find plenty of tutorials online.
