Hello,

I'm wondering, when you pwn databases, do you always ask for a ransom before leaking the data here (if you do so)?

Some do it for ransoming, others just for the fuck of it, pure chaos!

[halburt]

It depends on how large the amount of stolen data is, and how much collateral leaking it will cause the company. If you think they'll put more value into preventing user data from going public, get your bag man

Some ask for money if the data is good, others publish it to generate reputation

They also factor in whether or not the data contains any shit like credit card #s or other financially exploitable data.

Depends what are your goals: chaos, hacktivism or money
