MPs are going to hear about a big data breach involving the Ministry of Defence on Tuesday, which focused on service personnel.
The government won't say which country is involved, but according to Sky News, it's China.
China is being accused of trying to hack into MoD employees' systems two or three times, including personnel.
The cyberattack targeted a payroll system used by current service members and some veterans. The information that got exposed is mostly names and bank details.
The MoD has been working quickly over the past 72 hours to figure out how big the hack is.
This could make other countries that have tricky relationships with China wonder if they should share sensitive intelligence with the UK.
This is happening less than two months after the government blamed China's "state-affiliated actors" for two "malicious" cyberattack campaigns in the UK.
Deputy Prime Minister Oliver Dowden talked about the two incidents: an attack on the Electoral Commission, which oversees elections and political finance, in 2021, and targeted attacks on MPs critical of China.
