BlackCat apparently disappeared while trying to make people believe that he had been seized by the NCA, 
but the NCA said that it was false and that they had exitscam, 
he had apparently just made a nice haul of 20 million after ransoming UnitedHealth 
but no affiliate saw the money, I'm curious to have your opinion on that

It's a shitty move.
I don't think it's the smartest thing to try to scam hackers, especially ones that know you and have worked with. I imagine the affiliates didn't take it easy and will want revenge.
