That shouldnt be a surprise to the retarded users of telegram, the founder was invited to France to meet their president many times before. His visit to France was nothing new, I believe they were trying to reach a deal with him but things went south so they just arrested him.

Telegram has a serious lack of E2EE too. Wouldn't use it personally.
