The reason why Iran hates the US is because its ruler prior to the Islamic revolution in 1979, Muhammad Reza Shah was a major ally of the US and the US has sold him weapons as well as civilian technologies which transformed Iran into a more secular place, as happens with modernism, and to the dismay of the clergy who since then describe the West as pure evil. While I know that the US invasion to Iraq was a mistake (as it removed Saddam Hussein, who was a rival to Iran), it has opened the door to Iranian expensionism.

The story about Mossadegh is true and has been a very foul behavior on the side the West. However, the prime reason for the hate the Ayatollahs have towards the West originate mostly from Western culture and their fear that it would destroy the Shiite Islamic values and beliefs. How do I know? The protests against the Shah and the Western support of his regime started because of Reza's declaration of the White Revolution and the modernization of Iran. The white revolution reforms started in 1963 - 12 years after the Mossadegh coup. Obviously the Shah's corruption and oppression did not help.

In anyway, whatever the US or the West have done. Could you tell me why the fuck the world's central trade route should suffer out of that? Could you tell me why 20 million Syrians had to be displaced and now Iran-supporting Shiite communities are being settled where once Sunni Syrians used to live? Does the Mossadegh coup in fucking 1951 justifies Iranian support in the armed rebellion in Yemen which overthrew the legitimate government?
