The CIA and Mossad participated in the arrest of a Uruguayan who was threatening to carry out an attack. He is a 14-year-old minor detained in Rocha by the Police Intelligence Directorate; the role of ISIS and a Spanish terrorist is under investigation.
A 14-year-old minor was arrested and transferred from Rocha to Montevideo, under investigation for spreading a potential threat in the country.
**On August 22, 2024**, while carrying out tasks related to the General Directorate of Information and Police Intelligence, information was obtained regarding the possibility that an individual might spread a potential threat of an attack in our country.
Based on the above, intelligence tasks were initiated, and after various proceedings inherent to this unit, the individual responsible for these actions was identified. Once the prosecutor's office was informed, a search warrant and an arrest warrant were issued for a 14-year-old minor in the city of Lascano, Rocha.
Continuing the proceedings on September 6, 2024, a team from this unit carried out the search of the suspect's home, which was conducted in the presence of the minor under investigation and their parents. Several electronic devices were seized during the inspection.
At 8:20 a.m., the arrest warrant for the minor was executed after reading their rights. The minor was then transferred by helicopter to the city of Montevideo and handed over to INISA personnel at 10:15 a.m. for their subsequent transfer to the Juvenile Court of the 3rd Shift, as ordered by the acting prosecutor's office.
On the other hand, regarding the execution of the aforementioned operation, support was provided by the command of the Rocha Police Headquarters and the Air Unit (DNAPN).
