I can't even imagine trying to show parent anime, but honestly you're going to know the personality of your parents best, choose one that won't bore them to death or overload them with insanity. I would say pick the anime that's most inline with the kinds of movies they already watch. If you're not sure well, IMO, you can never go wrong with Princess Mononoke, that story is accessible for mainstream so pretty safe as an all-around.

Aggretsuko is a good one. I think for parents anything that is light on fan service (at the least in the first few episodes), has a good dub is easy to enjoy for people who don't watch anime. Literally any miyazaki though because they also have good localization and were made for a wide audience. "Your name" is a good one as well if you are looking for something modern because the visuals are so stunning.

Yeah, the first episode is captivating and will have them begging for more. Death Note has an interesting concept with the perfect protagonist.

I think it really depends on their level.There some animes you watch as a beginner and they will suck you right into the anime world forever.Others not so much.
