Counter Strike in one form or another would be my pick. I think the simplicity of the game, especially from a spectator's perspective, helps give it incredible longevity since it makes it easy to get into (although actually getting good is a whole different beast). For example, if you were to watch a CSGO/CS2 esports tournament and a DOTA/League one without knowing anything about each game, it's incredibly easy to pick up and understand what's going on in CS whereas you would be absolutely clueless with the others.

If specific games active today still have a community of players in 100+ years, what do you think those games might be?

We are in an era where a single generation of gamers has been alive long enough to keep communities in older games going strong. However, I wonder after hundreds or even thousands of years if certain video games would still be considered classics that maintain communities, sort of like how Chess has survived a long time.

What factors might be the most important to consider for the potential longevity of a community?

Have any of you found yourself getting involved in a community for a game that existed before you were born?

The most simplest game, for example to play over 100 years? Minecraft!
