minecraft has a large community , I think there is for a while.

Doom for sure, because you can play anywhere

If specific games active today still have a community of players in 100+ years, what do you think those games might be?

We are in an era where a single generation of gamers has been alive long enough to keep communities in older games going strong. However, I wonder after hundreds or even thousands of years if certain video games would still be considered classics that maintain communities, sort of like how Chess has survived a long time.

What factors might be the most important to consider for the potential longevity of a community?

Have any of you found yourself getting involved in a community for a game that existed before you were born?

yeah see post above and GTA maybe the first choice to anwser

Tf2, the game has a constant flow of new players for some reason

definitely some simple games like tetris

[bops112]

id agree with the people GTA will be around for sure if they keep putting out games

TF2. This game not only has a playerbase but also a huge fanbase (which produces content for YouTube, shitposting, etc.).

I think the machmaking servers have been disabled, but the community servers are always active.
