They're companies selling products. It's called Demographics; shallow I know, but that's just how business and marketing work, they need a pool of people to hand over their money, and by adding as many diversified types of people into games (aka Representation) its a hope that those people will buy into their products too, increasing their gains.

See i see what u mean and i dont mind when other demographics are targeted, i mean i play a decent chunk of sonic games, even though i am nowhere near the demographic targeted, i just mean in the sense when they prioritise the demographic marketing over making the game actually somwhat fun, take concord or hell even assasasains creed shadows. Im not trying to say down with lgbt or some shit, im just mad at the current game market where some company cant just make a fun game that people will buy for fun, not so their fanbase could say "Oh this guy/girl/whatever looks like ME". People love shit regardless. The the thing is when they're hoping for the product to sell cause of diversity, its a hope, when they could really focus on smth that could guarantee more money in most cases. Nah, we're good man No rudeness observed! You're right though, we just need fun games, and you can just tell some companies show representation for profit, which only pours more oil on the bigotry fires by people who just want fun.

Thing is, insisting that the inclusion of women, people of colour, genders and sexuality in games, makes them 'political' - we need to roll back, and at least acknowledge that their identities were made political anyway, which is why the inclusion of maybe 1 character or NPC being 'different' gets such backlash, because the audiences that opine about 'woke games' don't understand that they built this monster themselves.
