What I hate about TikTok and current music trends is just how short songs are getting. A lot of popular songs nowadays are like a little over 2 minutes. 2 minutes to me barely feels like enough time to really enjoy a song. There's barely any structure to these sorts of songs because they're so short. I want longer songs again. 3:30 to 4:30 minutes for a song is the length I prefer. I feel like I can actually enjoy a song when it's around that length because it has structure. A lot of the songs that get popular because of TikTok also seem so repetitive to me. It's like the song has to repeat the same thing over and over like a commercial. I almost feel like the song *IS* a commercial instead of an actual song.

then theres like trendy "alt" kids that come in and try to ruin every music subculture

its nice when a band that was fading out gets it's popularity blown up by tiktok but its also really annoying when people call it "the song from tiktok", it makes me want to punch them in the face lol

I think it depends on how you use it, not all tiktok content is garbage, it's based on what you look at, if you know how to take advantage of it, it's good.

i'd rather suffocate in a sand castle wall as a microscopic version of myself than have my song popular because of tiktok. there are some priorities, fellow musicians.
